First of all, thanks for providing a MacOS waveform viewer. It's been a long wait.

I'm wondering whether Scansion "does the right thing" when showing vcd files with events. Right now Scansion seems to show the value of the event, while IEEE 1364 says: (par. 18.2.2)
Quote:Events are dumped in the same format as scalars. ... For events, however, the value ... is irrelevant. Only the identifier code ... is significant. It appears in the VCD file as a marker to indicate the event was triggered during the time step.

Some waveform viewers show an event as "high" when the event appears in the time step, "low" otherwise. This seems a safe approach.
Alternatively, one could show events as markers. YMMV.

regards,

koen

RE: events
Yes I have to agree with you. The intention is to have this show a transaction trace for that "signal" (see the images of the TLM traces on the screenshots on the Scansion website). Its on the list but list is a tad long and this is hidden there somewhere. Regardless this is an easy upgrade and will be part of the next incremental release which will be out in the next few weeks.

If you have any feedback on that format for display let me know. Seems like the obvious way to do it but input is always welcome.

Let me know if you want a preview drop when it is ready since extra beta testing is always helpful.

Cheers,
Jeff

RE: events
This was addressed in the recent 1.02 update. Events from a VCD file will now look like TLM events (bubble when the event is fired). You can adjust the colors for these in the Event Inspector.

Cheers,
Jeff
